Chris Coleman admitted Wales were punished for not taking care of business as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Georgia. Buccaneers Jerseys . Gareth Bales early header gave Wales the lead in the Group D World Cup Qualifier but they failed to build on it, conceding a second-half equaliser to Tornike Okriashvili and could easily have lost the game.Coleman told Sky Sports: People will look at it as two points dropped but it might be a point gained at the end of the day, in the second half. Moreover, it makes the game a little less beautiful. I call it the "deliberate handball swindle." A player, believing hes been fouled, grabs the ball while falling to the ground, forcing the referee into making a decision in the players favour. As a long suffering observer of CONCACAF, Ill cynically assume that this technique originated in Central America and spread like a disease to the rest of the world. Unfortunately, FIFA has allowed the plague to fester...until recently it seems. More and more, we are seeing officials make the correct decision, by giving a free kick in the other direction, while brandishing the yellow card that is automatically awarded for intentionally handling the ball. Unfortunately for Whitecaps fans, it was a Vancouver player that fell victim to that modern interpretation and, because Mattias Laba was already in the book, it was an indisputable sending off in the Whitecaps 2-1 loss to Colorado Rapids on Saturday. Was Laba pulled back by Nick Labrocca in the 77th minute and might a foul have been awarded? Yes. But there were a full two steamboats between Laba tumbling to the ground and the Argentine midfielder grabbing the ball. Enough time for the referee to blow his whistle, which he didnt, and enough time for Laba to consider the circumstances - already on a yellow witth his team leading by a goal. Vita Vea Buccaneers Jersey. Perhaps in his home country, in front of a huge crowd, a referee might have caved to the con and we see that all the time. I sympathize with officials who are constantly being put in a position of having to interpret deceit. So for the good of the game, Im glad Ionnis Stavridis construed the law the way he did and I hope his contemporaries in the game consistently follow suit and react the same way in similar circumstances. There is part of me, though, that also wonders whether in this instance, if the referee knew right away that Laba was already on a yellow for a belligerent foul just 23 minutes earlier ,as there seemed to be hesitation between him showing the secnd yellow and then the red. If referees themselves strive for anonymity and the desire to let players decide games, then, upon reflection, perhaps Mr. Stavridis might have secretly wished he had just awarded a foul to Nick Labrocca and not influenced the game to that degree. But it doesnt change the fundamental issue - grabbing the ball to force a referee into a ruling falls under the same category as diving or, as its now known, “simulation." Its cheating plain and simple and if the Whitecaps truly want to live by their slogan “Our All, Our Honour”, maybe they need to learn from this incident and encourage players to think twice about employing one of the games most notorious swindles. England forward George Kruis says improvement is key for England as they look ahead to a three-Test tour of Australia. John Paxson Jersey . Kruis was speaking ahead of the Old Mutual Wealth Cup match between England and Wales on 29 May, live on Sky Sports. The two sides will do battle for the first time since England avenged their World Cup loss with a 25-21 win at Twickenham during the Six Nations, and Kruis is relishing the prospect of facing his countrys old rivals as they aim to build on their Grand Slam heroics. Definitely upped the stakes with a game against Wales, said Kruis. Well be looking to take that momentum we had from the back of the Six Nations straight into that. Kruis scored the opening try in Englands 15-6 win over Scotland in February You look at how we left the Six Nations out in France, everyone was pretty happy that we completed that job but its been drilled into us that we know were not our finished product. Were far from world class at the moment, weve got a long way to go and were looking forward to getting out there on the field. England and Saracens second rowers Kruis and Maro Itoje with the RBS Six Nations Triple Crown trophy The first thing we wanted was to be improving each week, and come the end of the Six Nations we were definitely improving, and well just take that forward.Eddie Jones will be in the Sky Sports News studios to talk to us about the Wales game and the subsequent tour of Australia, and Kruis believes the coach will hold nothing back when talking about the players. No excuses for ruthless England Phil Edwards explains why he is confident ahead of Englands three-Test series against Australia Hes given us gentle reminders of what we need to work on, how we need to keep improving. At the end of the day thats all weve got to do, keep improving. Were a young squad, we all know were not the finished product. He knows were a young, eager group. Were willing to learn, weve still got that hunger and that passion within us, I think he plays on that a bit. Eddie Jones talks about a number of subjects, including the abrasive Michael Cheika Hes a good coach and hes got a good coaching staff behind him, so its an interesting prospect for us.He plays his mind games, Kruis added with a smile. Before Kruis puts on the England jersey he has club commitments with Saracens, who are flying high. They will finish the regular Premiership season as top seeds, earning them a home semi-final, and have a Champions Cup final against Racing 92 to look forward to. Kruis points to the depth of the squad as the main contributor to the strong season. When we went to the Six Nations, the guys did a hell of a job of putting up a front and keeping us in the top four, and now a lot of the players are back and were just massively excited to play these big games.Weve put some much into it as a squad, as coaches and backroom staff; its a whole team approach and hopefully we can pay that off in the next couple of weeks.Youve got to work [Racing 92] out first, there will definitely be a big week of preparation coming into it. We pride ourselves on training well and playing well - there will be a big sense of that. Its a proper squad effort, its not just the 15 out there on the field. The amount of players weve used this whole season has been incredible, and everyones played a part. Its been a fantastic season for us in that sense. As analysts we do the same thing, so here are some observations from week one. First there were two major upsets. I should say, major upsets in the eyes of the fans and prognosticators.TORONTO -- Construction of six venues for the Toronto 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Games is running behind schedule, including a new Hamilton stadium, a key venue thats now expected to be finished in September. The $145.7-million Tim Hortons Field was slated to open this month, a year before it was to host all 32 mens and womens soccer competitions. The delay has forced the Hamilton Tiger-Cats football team to use a smaller facility for the first two home games of the season. Completion dates for the Toronto track and field centre, a facility in Markham, the equestrian park in Caledon and the shooting centre in Cookstown have all been pushed back by a month or two. The ballpark in Ajax was supposed to be completed by July, but phase two of the project is now expected to be finished in November. However, all the projects are expected to be done well before the Games begin next July. "We had a significantly difficult winter this past go-around, and I think you would understand the ball park being a challenge when youre trying to put a playing field in when youve got frozen ground," said Murray Noble, TO2015s senior vice-president of infrastructure. "So some of those projects were truly to do with the weather." The final phase of the Caledon equestrian park was pushed back from December 2014 to February 2015 to make it easier for the right contractors to bid on it, he added. "All of our projects continue to be tracking very well for completion before the end of the year here, and certainly well within the time frames before the Games," he said. Noble said he couldnt provide an exact date for the completion of the Hamilton stadium, saying the question should be directed to Infrastructure Ontario. Ontarios governing Liberals have been under fire for the stadium setback, but say taxpayers wont be on the hook for any cost overruns. But the Ticats are taking a financial hit for every game they cant play in the new stadium, said New Democrat Paul Miller, who represents a Hamilton riding. The team will have to use Roy Joyce Stadium at McMaster University, which has 6,000 permanent seats and temporary seating for another 6,000. Tim Hortons Field would have 22,500 permanent seats and a potential capacity of 40,000 through temporary seating. "Whos going to cover that cost?" said Miller. "The city of Hamilton? Infrastructure Ontario? The Pan Am committee?" TO2015 said Friday that the overall capital building program for the Games continues to stay in line with their budget. It spent $92. Chicago Bulls Jerseys. .8 million in the quarter ending March 31, including $66 million on venue construction during the three months ending March 31, the organizing committee said in its fourth-quarter financial report. Venue construction spending is $387 million so far, about 53 per cent of the total original capital budget of $730 million, it said. It includes $83.5 million for the Hamilton stadium, $148.4 million for an aquatics and field house and $24.8 million on an athletics stadium in Toronto and $53.9 million for the Markham centre, which will host badminton, table tennis and water polo competitions. Operating expenses during the quarter were $26.8 million, mostly spent in the areas of corporate, technology, transportation, events and ceremonies and community and cultural affairs, it said. Corporations have also put in an "incremental $43 million in value" worth of in-kind sponsorships for delivery of the Games, the committee said. TO2015 said it has spent $126.9 million to date, about 15.7 per cent of its total operations budget of $810 million. It reported $4,159 in travel and hospitality expenses for the quarter, bringing the total since last July to $23,136. Saad Rafi, TO2015s chief executive officer, said the Games are expected to create 26,000 job and 84 per cent of the funding spent to procure goods and services has gone to Canadian companies. The Games will take place at 34 different competition venues across the Golden Horseshoe, from Niagara in the south to Orillia in the north, running from July 7 to 26, followed by the Parapan Am Games Aug. 7 to 15. The Liberals have also been criticized for the cost of security for the Games, admitting that the original $113 million built into the Pan Am budget was just a best guess and it may climb above the latest estimate of $239 million. TO2015 said it couldnt provide the latest figures, saying it was in the hands of the Pan/Parapan Am Games Integrated Security Unit. The report glosses over the construction delays, inflates the number of jobs that will be created and doesnt mention the amount of money that will be spent on security or transportation, Miller said. "Every time (the Liberals) talk about it, they talk about the positive side of it," Miller said. "And thats fine, but they dont talk about the hidden negative side and they dont want the public to know that." The total budget for the Games, including security, transportation and the athletes village is currently estimated at $2.5 billion. ANAHEIM, Calif. Timo Meier Jersey . -- Centre Saku Koivu and goalie Jonas Hiller are done with the Anaheim Ducks. Koivu, Hiller and forward Daniel Winnik wont be offered contracts by the Ducks for next season, general manager Bob Murray confirmed Thursday. The Pacific Division champion Ducks are cutting ties with several dependable veterans after the best regular season in franchise history and a second-round playoff exit. Along with Teemu Selannes retirement, the departures of Koivu and Hiller will allow the Ducks young talent to assume bigger roles next season. Anaheim also is in the trade market for an elite centre. "Weve got younger players coming along that we had to move into the lineup," Murray said. "I thought it was best for this organization that we move forward a little bit. It was just time." The 39-year-old Koivu became a fan favourite during five seasons with the Ducks, even while his scoring production dwindled. The four-time Finnish Olympian was the longtime captain of the Montreal Canadiens. Murray said the Ducks decision on Koivu was "the hardest of the three. He had a great career." Murray isnt certain what Koivu will do next, but wouldnt be surprised if he decides to play in Finland. Koivu said last month he was contemplating retirement. The Ducks decision to part ways with Hiller means theyll head into next season with a new starting goalie for the first time since 2009. Hiller made an All-Star team, won a playoff series and consistently backstopped the Ducks through several seasons of frequently terrible defensive play in front of him, going 162-110-32 over seven years. But the Swiss netminder lost his starting job late in the regular season to Danish backup Frederik Andersen, and he played infrequently in the post-season while the Ducks went with Andersen and 20-year-old John Gibson, widely considered the top goaltending prospect in hockey. "Jonas did so much for us," Murray said. "But weve got pretty good kids there, so the writing was kind of on the wall." The 32-year-old Hiller had hoped to stay in Anaheim, but he joins Ryan Miller as the top goalies available in free agency. Anaheim signed the undrafted Hiller out of Switzerlands top league in May 2007. He beat out Ilya Bryzgalov for a roster spot and swiftly seized the starting job from Jean-Sebastien Giguere, the Stanley Cup-winning starter and franchises winningest goalie. "Its funny how it comes full circle," Murray said. Hiller won 14 consecutive decisions during his final season with the Ducks, and he shut out the Los Angeles Kings at Dodger Stadium in January. Andersen and Gibson both struggled at times in the playoffs, but confirmed he wasnt in the Ducks plans when he got just two post-season starts even after Andersen struggled and eventually got injured. Gibson was mediocre in the Ducks final two losses to the Kings, but Anaheim stuck with its youth over Hillers experience. Winnik spent the past two years with the Ducks, scoring 30 points in 76 games last season. Murray emerged from his post-season meetings eager to retool the Ducks, who finished atop the Western Conference and won their second straight division title at 54-20-8. Anaheim beat Dallas in the first round of the post-season, but blew a 3-2 lead in the second round against the rival Kings, losing to the eventual Stanley Cup champions in seven games. The Ducks also are in the market for a veteran centre after failing to land Vancouvers Ryan Kesler at last springs trade deadline. Anaheim has been linked in discussions for Kesler, Ottawas Jason Spezza and San Joses Joe Thornton. Anaheim has a wealth of assets for a deal, including four draft picks in the first two rounds and an impressive collection of prospects in one of the NHLs best farm systems. "I think were in good shape if the right deal is there," Murray said. "You try to make a good hockey deal, and we obviously have some things that people want." Aaron Dell Jersey . Federer defeated Gasquet in 6-4, 6-2, 6-2 fashion to give the visiting Swiss an insurmountable 3-1 lead in the best-of-five tie on an indoor red clay surface at Lilles Pierre Mauroy Stadium. The final scheduled match of the weekend between Stan Wawrinka and Gael Monfils was abandoned on Sunday. The 17-time Grand Slam king Federer has now captured every coveted title in mens tennis, with the exception of an Olympic gold medal in singles. He paired with Wawrinka to win a gold medal in doubles at the 2008 Summer Games in Beijing. Its not for me, Ive won enough in my career and did not need to tick any empty boxes, Federer said. Im just happy for everybody else. Im happy we could live a great tennis historic moment in our country. Federer pulled out of last weeks championship match at the prestigious ATP World Tour Finals in London because of a back injury, which appeared to slow him here on Friday, but not Sunday in Lille, where he would not be denied. The 33-year-old superstar was ultra clean on Day 3, striking seven aces, without committing a double fault, and breaking Gasquet five times, while not getting broken in the rout. The iconic Swiss struck 28 more winners in the 1- hour, 52-minute match (62-34), which ended with a backhand drop shot winner. Im happy I was able to stay calm and play a good match, and Im really happy for the guys in the team, everybody worked incredibly hard to get me match ready, Federer said. Logan Couture Jersey. Stan has put in so much effort over the years and played an unbelievable weekend that gave me the opportunity today. Im very much aware of that, this one is for the boys. Federer improved to 38-12 in his career Davis Cup singles affairs. Switzerland headed into Sundays reverse singles with a 2-1 lead against the host French after Federer and Wawrinka teamed up for a straight-set doubles victory over Gasquet and Julien Benneteau on Saturday. The capable Gasquet replaced Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the French draw on Sunday. The former Australian Open runner-up Tsonga lost to this years Aussie champion Wawrinka in four sets in Fridays opening singles rubber, while Day 1s other match saw Monfils thrash the former world No. 1 and currently second-ranked Federer in straights. The Davis Cup, which was first contested in 1900, has been captured by France on nine occasions, while the Swiss were seeking that elusive maiden championship and became the 14th nation to do so. Switzerland finished as a runner-up back in 1992. The Swiss were captained by Severin Luthi, while the French were guided by former Aussie Open runner-up Arnaud Clement. Switzerland is now 3-10 all-time versus France in Davis Cup play. The two nations last met in a 2004 quarterfinal, which was won by the French. France was seeking its first title in 13 years. Silver or an owner has to formally charge Sterling in writing with violating Article 13 of the NBAs constitution. A hearing would then be held and require a three-fourths vote of the board of governors to force Sterling to sell the team he has owned since 1981. SALT LAKE CITY -- Big Turk lived up to his nickname. John Kelly Jersey . After two games in which he was nearly invisible, Enes Kanter loomed large in the middle and scored 24 points to lift the Utah Jazz past the Washington Wizards 104-101 Saturday night. "The big man played big tonight," said Gordon Hayward, who hit two free throws with 2.6 seconds left to seal the win. Kanter made 11 of 13 shots and the Jazz overcame a 13-point deficit to take control in the fourth quarter and keep the Wizards from moving above the .500 mark for the first time in more than four years. Kanter also took the pressure off of Derrick Favours, who is dealing with a sore hip. "Enes was doing the scoring, so I just tried to go out there and play defence and get rebounds," said Favours, who had 11 points and 14 rebounds. Hayward finished with 16 points and Alec Burks added 15 as the Jazz swept the two games with the Wizards for the second straight season. Trevor Ariza led Washington with 23 points, including a 3-pointer with 52 seconds left that drew the Wizards within 101-98. John Wall banked in a 3-pointer to get within 102-101 with 3.6 seconds left, but Hayward made two free throws and Wall missed at the buzzer. Kanter scored a total of eight points in two blowout losses to Minnesota and drew his coachs ire for often being in the wrong spots. But in this one, Kanter consistently found himself in the right place at the right time -- picking up loose balls, making timely passes and changing the Wizards shots in the paint. "I personally was really bad two games against Minnesota, but tonight I wanted to come out with lots of energy," Kanter said. The muscular centre from Turkey displayed a deft shooting touch on jumpers and power moves to the basket. When Arizas 3-pointer cut the lead to 92-90, Kanter hit a jump shot. With 57 seconds left, he made two free throws to give Utah a 101-95 cushion after a nifty reverse-pivot down the lane that drew a foul. Utahs schedule has allowed for practices in the past few weeks and the young Jazz players have benefited from the extra work. "My coaches have given me a lot of confidence and weve been practicing really hard," Kanter said. "The things I have been trying to do and now showing in the games." Burks and Hayward drove through the Wizards defence for layups as the Jazz scored on four straight possessions to open the fourth quarter and take an 85-77 lead. "We did a good job of attacking them after playing inside-out. We attacked them in transition, attacked them in the half court," said Trey Burke, who had 12 points and eight assists. The Jazz seemed a step quicker to loose balls as the game wore on, but the Wizards made it interesting in the final minute before yet again failing to move above .500. "We were running in mud half the game, in my opinion," Washington coach Randy Wittman said. "We wouldnt commit ourselves to our pace." Ten times over the past five seasons, the Wizards have had a chance to surpass .500. Theyve lost every time. "I feel like we had this game won. We just didnt do a good job in stopping them and they just kept making good plays," Wall said. Wizards last won a game to go above .500 on Oct. 31, 2009, when they beat the New Jersey Nets to improve to 2-1. They lost to Cleveland on Nov. 3 and havent had a winning record since. The Wizards, who led most of the game, have lost this season at 0-0, 9-9, 14-14, 19-19, 20-20 and 21-21. No one on the current Wizards roster was on the team when it was last above .500. Though Utah is at the bottom of the Western Conference standings, the Jazz are competitive when healthy. The starting lineup of Burke, Hayward, Marvin Williams, Richard Jefferson and Favours is 12-8 this season. Favours was a game-time decision but felt his right hip strain had healed enough to give it a go and the Jazz needed his defence and rebounding prowess. When Favors needed a rest, Kanter made his presence known, especially with his 10 points in the fourth quarter. After stumbling through a subpar January, Ariza has found his groove. He scored 23 points in a win over Phoenix Friday and made 6 of 10 3-pointers against Utah. But his fellow perimeter players couldnt find their range. Beal was 5 of 16 and Wall made just 4 of 14 attempts from the field. "I thought Trey and the guys playing Wall made him work for everything he got," Utah coach Tyrone Corbin said. Nene had 19 points, including a handful of emphatic dunks, and Marcin Gortat had 14 points and 11 rebounds, but they couldnt stop Kanter when it mattered most. The study identified at least three potential stadium sites, two in Toronto, including one on the waterfront, and another in the suburb of Mississauga, the person told The Associated Press on Thursday. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because Bon Jovi and his partners, Larry Tanenbaum and the Rogers family, have not publicly revealed details of their plans to purchase the team. Andy Bergmann, responsible for overseeing the Bon Jovi groups stadium plans, confirmed Thursday in an email to the AP that his company has conducted stadium studies, "but nothing related to any specific site." "We have undertaken engineering and design studies," wrote Bergmann, co-founder of Toronto-based Wessex Capital Partners, a growth equity investment firm that specializes in architecture, design and engineering services. "All of our work has been about a generic site and whether it was more rural or urban. We are aware of potential sites in the western NY and southern Ontario region, and are in fact meeting with two Buffalo area developers next week. "No feasibility studies have been undertaken on any site to date." Tanenbaum is chairman of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, which controls the NBAs Raptors and NHLs Maple Leafs. The Rogers family includes Edward Rogers, deputy chairman of Rogers Communications, the Toronto-based communications giant. The Bills are being sold following the death of Hall of Fame owner Ralph Wilson in March. Under terms of the teams lease with the state and county, the Bills -- including Wilsons estate -- are not allowed to negotiate with anyone, who to their knowledge, has an intention of relocating the team before the end of the 2022 season, when the lease ends. The feasibility study was commissioned about 18 months ago and overseen by an investment bank, the person said, adding that one of the stadium construction costs was between $800 million and $900 million. The Bon Jovi group has not said they would relocate the team, but Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz told the AP on Wednesday that he has no doubt the groups intentions are to move the Bills to Toronto. "It is my personal opinion that any bid associated with the Toronto group has a long-term interest in moving the team to Toronto," Poloncarz said, while attending Bills training camp in suburban Rochester, New York. Thursday night, New York Lt. Gov. Robert Duffy posted several notes on his Twitter account and specifically mentioned Bon Jovi in sending a warning to any prospective ownershipp groups that might have plans of relocating the Bills. Aqib Talib Rams Jersey. "Note to JBJ: You will lose fans/all of WNY- forever. Not worth it," Duffy said, referring to Bon Jovi and western New York. "Note to prospective owners: BUFFALO Bills. Dont pick this fight." Duffy then referred to a clause in the Bills lease that provides the state and county an opportunity to seek court action to block negotiations between the team and any party that has expressed an intention of relocating the team during the lease. If the legal action failed and the Bills relocated during the lease, the state and county would be open to seeking a $400 million penalty as compensation. "It would be a public relations disaster for any new owner to consider a move- and the 400m hit," Duffy wrote in a post that included a link to the AP story. The Bills most recently were valued by Forbes at $870 million. They are projected to be sold for at least $1 billion, partly because NFL teams rarely go on the market. John Vrooman, a Vanderbilt professor who specializes in sports economics, said feasibility studies are standard practice among prospective ownership groups and there should be no immediate cause for alarm. He said such studies evaluate expected cash flows and best- and worst-case risk factors based on location. Vrooman projected the Bills to be valued at between $950 million and $1 billion in western New York, and about $1.5 billion if they moved to Toronto and even more in Los Angeles. The Toronto group is represented by Goldman Sachs, and is one of at least 10 groups to have submitted a nondisclosure agreement form to Morgan Stanley, the banking firm overseeing the Bills sale on behalf of Wilsons estate. Among those also listed as returning their forms are Buffalo Sabres owners Terry and Kim Pegula and New York City real estate mogul Donald Trump. The next step comes Tuesday. Thats when prospective bidders must submit to Morgan Stanley whats called "a first letter of indication," which includes their initial and non-binding bid to purchase the team, said a person familiar with the sale process. The person spoke to the AP on the condition of anonymity because the sale process is private. The person said the firm will review the bids and determine which prospective groups will be eligible to proceed to the next stage of bidding. The list of remaining groups allowed to move forward is anticipated to be identified by the end of next week, the person said. Those groups will then be granted further access to the Bills financial date to better determine their bid. Its possible that a prospective owner could be identified by as early as late August, and be presented to NFL owners for approval during league meetings in early October. CALGARY -- Fred Couples won the Champions Tours Shaw Charity Classic on Sunday, chipping in for eagle for a course-record 9-under 61 and beating Billy Andrade with a tap-in birdie on the first hole of a playoff. Marcin Gortat Jersey . "It never came into my mind about winning the tournament until really maybe the 15th, 16th holes," said Couples, four strokes back entering the round. The 54-year-old Couples also eagled the par-5 11th and had five birdies in his third straight bogey-free round at Canyon Meadows. "No bogeys is good," Couples said. "I consider this to be a nice tricky, tough, little course." Andrade shot 62, making a short eagle putt on the par-5 18th to match Couples at 15 under. "Hats off to Fred and move on," Andrade said. "When you lose you lose. You dont really feel great about it. So, well get them next week in Quebec." Couples holed out from 40 feet for the eagle in regulation on 18. "I landed it right where I wanted to," Couples said. "It was going a little fast, but it obviously hit the pin and went in." In the playoff on 18, Andrade went for the green in two and pulled his approach right of the green and into a skybox. Couples laid up and hit his third within a foot. After taking a drop, Andrade left his chip 40 feet short and missed his birdie putt. "I made a good valiant effort and it didnt go in," Andrade said. Couples broke the course record of 62 set by Bill Glasson last year in the inaugural tournament and matched by Tom Pernice Jr. and Bart Bryant in the first round Friday. Couples also won the Toshiba Classic in March in California and has 11 victories on the 50-and-over tour. The Hall of Famer won 15 times on the PGA Tour. "To come back and win is a great feeling," Couples said. "I started to play pretty well and then my back went out and then my wrist a little bit. So, I took two months off and I havent really played much. Its not surprising, but I played last week in Seattle, which gave me quite a few rounds." Andrade turned 50 in January and is winless in 15 starts on the Champions Tour. The four-time PGA Tour winner also was second in March in the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic. "I really had a wonderful time up here, but you want to win it when you get this close," Andrade said. "Unfortunately, I didnt, so its OK. Lifes still great, everythings good. But, you know, were all fighting to win, you want to win." Steve Lowery and Joe Daley tied for third at 13 under. Lowery finished with a 64, and Daley shot 67. Wes Short Jr. was another stroke back after a 64. "I was thinking 63 might have a shot at it, but you never know when someones going to come out and shoot 61 like that," Lowery said. Couples opened with rounds of 68 and 66 to enter the day four strokes behind leaders Daley, Joe Durant and Bob Tway. Durant had a 73 to tie for 19th at 7 under, and Tway followed his second-round 63 with a 74 to drop into a tie for 27th at 6 under. Bernhard Langer, the tour leader with five victories this season, also was 6 under after a 72. Rocco Mediate, the winner last year, had a 67 to join the group at 7 under. Kelly Oubre Jr. Jersey . NASHVILLE -- Steve Spurrier now trails only Paul "Bear" Bryant for the most Southeastern Conference wins by a coach. Larry Doby Jersey . Not that the old ball coach is celebrating a win he called one of the worst hes ever had. Dylan Thompson threw for 237 yards and three touchdowns, and he ran for another score as 14th-ranked South Carolina beat Vanderbilt 48-34 Saturday night for its third straight victory. But the Gamecocks fell behind 14-0 in the first quarter and didnt put away a team playing the most freshmen in the country until the final minutes. "Weve all seen good football teams, we aint one," Spurrier said. "Dont say were one right now. The way we play? Maybe we can be? I dont know . Its no fun for me watching us play tonight." Spurrier now has 202 Southeastern Conference wins, breaking a tie with Vince Dooley and putting him second only to Bryant (292). Spurrier also got his 20th win all-time against the Commodores. The Gamecocks (3-1, 2-1) started slow coming off their 38-35 win over Georgia in their first road trip this season. They got going by scoring 17 points in the second quarter, part of 24 straight points that gave them the lead for good, and beat Vanderbilt for a sixth straight time in this series. Darrius Sims returned two kickoffs for touchdowns for Vanderbilt. The Commodores (1-3, 0-2) pulled to 34-27 with 5:57 left but couldnt get closer. "Well take a look at the tape and fix what needs to be fixed," first-year Vandy coach Derek Mason said. "Our kids got better tonight ... When we get it right, we look pretty good." Vanderbilt has played 31 combined freshmen this season, and the Commodores lost starting quarterback Patton Robinette to an apparent injury after he threw a TD pass for a 14-0 lead late in the first quarter. Freshman Wade Freebeck replaced Robinette, and he drove the Commodores to two field goals by Tommy Openshaw in the second half. It just wasnt enough against the Gamecocks who answered with two TDs in the final 4:35. Pharoh Cooper set up the first, a 1-yard TD plunge by Thompson, with a 70-yard run off the wildcat after Vandy pulled within 34-27. Thompson finished 22 of 34 passing with his TD passes to three different players as he completed passes to seven receivers. South Carolina outgained Vanderbilt 449-379 in total offence, and the Gamecocks turned two turnovers into 14 points, including a 53-yard interception return by Brison Williams late in the first half. "Well, Vanderbilt has not been an offensive juggernaut in the SEC, and lets see, we did hold them to really not a lot of points," Spurrier said. Thompson said he probably hasnt seen Spurrier this upset. "We cant play like that," Thompson said. "We have to sharpen up every facet of the game. We come in here and played sloppy. It was a sloppy game. Hard to watch as a fan Im sure. But we did get the win. You appreciate wins, especially road wins in the SEC, but we have to sharpen up." Sims tied an NCAA record in the Football Bowl Subdivision with his two TDs off kick returns in the same game, the 18th time thats happened and first since 2012. He returned the opening kick 91 yards for a TD and then took Vanderbilts first kickoff in the second half 100 yards to pull the Commodores to 24-21. "We kept running right by the kickoff return guy, and he split us just about every time," Spurrier said. Vanderbilt got the start Mason needed off Sims kickoff return. Robinette made it 14-0 with an 8-yard TD pass to C.J. Duncan in the final minute of the first quarter. Vanderbilt held the ball for more than 9 minutes and outgained the Gamecocks 86-30. Then Robinette went to the locker room with an apparent injury after he started 4 of 5 for 55 yards. Freebeck came on, and the Commodores stalled. The Gamecocks took control scoring with a 45-yard field goal by Elliott Fly, a 29-yard pass from Thompson to Damiere Byrd for a TD. Vanderbilt was driving when Freebeck threw off his back foot and was intercepted by Williams. Vanderbilt had its chances to recover three fumbles in the second half only to see the Gamecocks get the ball back each time. Yan Gomes Jersey . - UFC 178, previously announced for Sept. Sunrise, FL (SportsNetwork. Sylvester Williams Jersey .com) - Luke Glendening scored twice and the Detroit Red Wings held off the Florida Panthers for a 5-4 win on Tuesday. Stephen Weiss posted a goal and two assists, Drew Miller scored a short-handed goal, Henrik Zetterberg also lit the lamp and Petr Mrazek made 37 saves in the Red Wings sixth straight win. We really battled it out. It wasnt always pretty, but youve got to get those sometimes, Glendening said. Aleksander Barkov finished with a goal and two assists, Nick Bjugstad supplied a goal and a helper and Brad Boyes and Brandon Pirri also scored for the Panthers, who dropped their fifth game in a row. There were a lot of guys that made some mistakes tonight that cost us some goals, Florida head coach Gerard Gallant said. It was the first game back and was a sloppy game. Al Montoya made 10 saves in relief of Roberto Luongo, who gave up five goals on 17 shots. After Glendening increased Detroits lead to 5-2 with a wrister in front with 8:41 left in the second, Bjugstad sent a shot over the shoulder of Mrazek from the left side of the net four minutes later. The Panthers got within a goal with 9:06 to play after Boyes tapped in Barkovs crisp pass from the left circle. Florida went on the power play with 2:32 remaining after Drew Miller was called for interference and pulled Montoya for a two-man advantage. Mrazek, however, fought off the Panthers barrage for the win. On the penalty kill early in the game, Miller took Jonathan Ericssons bank pass off the boards in the neutral zone, skated in on a breakaway and backhanded the puck through Luongos pads to start the scoring 8:06 into the contest. The Panthers went ahead with two quick two power-play goals. Barkov finished off a tic-tac-toe passing play with a wrister from the right side of the net during a 5-on-3 at 9:08 and Pirris slap shot trickled through the pads of Mrazek just 68 seconds later for a 2-1 lead. Early in the second, Gustav Nyquist took Luongos failed clear behind the net and sent a pass toward the slot. Justin Abdelkader tipped it to Zetterberg, who made it a 2-2 game on a wrist shot 32 seconds into the middle stanza. Detroit took a 4-2 lead with two quick goals. Glendening took the rebound of Weiss stuff attempt in front and lifted the puck over Luongo at 7:07 of the second and 1:19 later, Weiss tapped in Riley Sheahans cross-crease pass. Game Notes Sheahan tallied two assists ... Zetterberg has five goals and four assists during a four-game point streak ... CHARLOTTE, N. DaRon Payne Jersey .C. -- LeBron James heard the cheers from the crowd as he lay on the court holding his right thigh and writhing in pain. It only seemed to awaken the four-time league MVP. James scored 19 of his game-high 31 points after sustaining a thigh bruise early in the third quarter, helping the Miami Heat earn a first-round sweep of the Charlotte Bobcats with a 109-98 victory Monday night. He finished Game 4 10 of 19 from the field and had nine assists. "Its definitely sore," James said. "Im fortunate we were able to close out tonight and I can give it a little rest." He should have plenty of time. The two-time defending NBA champions will await the winner of Brooklyn-Toronto series, which is tied 2-2. If that series goes the distance it wont wrap up until Sunday. James said playing Charlotte was a good first test and Miami is headed in the right direction as it looks to win its third straight NBA championship. "We got tested by a young, scrappy Bobcats team," said James, who averaged 36.2 points in eight games against Charlotte this season. "We responded with a championship-type attitude." Chris Bosh added 17 points and Dwyane Wade battled through foul trouble and finished with 15 as Miami extended its winning streak over Charlotte to 20 games. The Heat improved to 16-2 in first-round games since James arrival four years ago. This was the second straight year the Heat swept their first-round series, taking out Milwaukee in four games last season. This was Miamis ninth consecutive series victory. "We improved every game and thats the most important thing about this series," James said. Miami began to take control midway through the third quarter shortly after James gave his teammates a scare when he drove to the basket from the left wing and his right thigh collided with Bismack Biyombos knee, sending James to the floor. Concerned teammates gathered around him and he was down for about a minute. James eventually got up and hobbled to the bench where sat down during a timeout. But he stayed in the game. After the timeout he buried a 3-pointer and a long jumper before a one-handed dunk to help give Miami a 73-66 lead with 4:51 left in the third quarter. Miami pushed the lead to 13 when Norris Cole knocked down a 3-point buzzer-beater from the right corner at the end of the quarter. Charlotte never got closer than seven points in the fourth quarter. Down the stretch, the Heat went to James time and time again with Wade on the bench with five fouls. James scored 11 points in the fourth quarter, taking advantage of a size advantage against Gerald Henderson. "LeBron was terrific during that stretch of the fourth quarter," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "I thought the last 5 minutes of the fourth quarter there was great execution and trust and the ball was moving and it was just working to the open guy. That was encouraging to see, especially at that time in the game." The Bobcats played without Al Jefferson, their leading scorer and rebounder who has been bothered by a foot injury since the first quarter of Game 1. "If you take away the best offensive player from any team in the league it dramatically changes your team," Bobcats coach Steve Clifford said. Kemba Walker picked up the slack, playing tough throughout and finishing with 29 points on 11-of-15 shooting. "He showed that he is not afraid of the moment," Clifford said. "He had a really good year and finished in a good way so we should be happy about him." Walker called the game a good learning experience for the inexperienced Bobcats. "At the same time its our first go-around in the playoffs for a lot of us and we can only go up from here," Walker said. In the end, turnovers again spelled doom for the Bobcats. They turned it over 16 times, leading to 22 Heat points, including two dunks by James. The loss signalled the end of an era for the Bobcats. They will become the Hornets next season. Before the game the Heat showed solidarity with the Los Angeles Clippers over the Donald Sterling controversy. Like the Clippers on Sunday, the Heat ran out of the tunnel wearing their warmups, huddled at centre court and tossed their white shooting T-shirts to the ground. They then went through their pregame routine with their red Heat warmup jerseys inside out, hiding the teams logo. Wozniak wasted a match point in her 6-7 (3), 7-5, 6-2 first-round loss to Romanias Sorana Cirstea. Torontos Fichman, ranked 77th, lost to sixth-seed Jelena Jankovic 5-7, 6-1, 6-3 in a match interrupted by darkness last in the second set on Monday. The first meeting between qualifier Wozniak, the world No. 149 from Blainville, Que., and 26th-ranked Cirstea lasted for just over 90 minutes in dry but chilly conditions. Wozniak, who has struggled with rehabilitation from a 2012 shoulder injury, had her chances to close out a win as she led the second set 5-4 But she dumped a backhand into the net on her winning chance, allowing Cirstea to eventually hold serve and tie the set at five games apiece. "It was one point to win the match, Im disappointed that I didnt cover it," Wozniak said. Cirstea then broke Wozniak for a 6-5 lead and tied the match at a set apiece a game later. The third set was a disaster for Wozniak, who lost serve to start and was beaten with a forehand down the line. Wozniak said she was carrying a thigh injury from her second qualifying match and felt it during her loss. "The first two sets were real battles," Wozniak said, before giving credit to Cirstea. "She played well, shes a good pplayer with a solid ground game, I knew what I was facing when I went into the match. Derrius Guice Jersey. Im disappointed it didnt go my way today. "Still, it was god experience to win three qualifying rounds. They helped me put in the work I needed. Its been two years since Ive played on real (European red) clay." Wozniak finished with 42 unforced errors and lost serve seven times while breaking Cirstea on four of eight chances. The Romanian won despite 51 unforced errors. Wozniak had her best Grand Slam result at Roland Garros in 2009 when she reached the fourth round. Fichman won her opening set on Monday against former No. 1 Jankovic but trailed 1-5 when darkness fell. When they came back, it was Jankovic in command, with the Serb winning the second set and breaking in the second game of the third. Fichman played catch-up all through the final set and saved a match point before taking the loss with 30 winners and 41 unforced errors. "At 3-all in the last set, I felt I got back into it, I played some good games," said Fichman. "Shes a tough player and is where she is for a reason. "She didnt give any free points; I knew I had to try and earn the match myself. I had a break point at 4-3 but I couldnt convert it. But the fact that I put myself into this position and had the chances is a positive thing. I hope to keep improving and take the good things from this match." DOHA, Qatar -- Rafael Nadal reached the final of the Qatar Open on Friday by coming from behind to beat German qualifier Peter Gojowczyk 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. DaRon Payne Redskins Jersey . Nadal is looking for his first title in Doha and will face Gael Monfils of France, who only needed 55 minutes to dispatch Florian Mayer of Germany 6-3, 6-2 in the other semifinal. "Im in the final," Nadal said. "That (will) probably give me a little bit more confidence, a little bit more rhythm." Nadal lost the first three games against the 162nd-ranked Gojowczyk but came back to level the first set before losing serve again in the 10th game. The top-ranked Spaniard then raced to a 4-1 lead in the second and broke Gojowczyks in the third game of the decider after two forehand errors by the German. "Well see if I am able to make (changes) tomorrow to play a little bit better," Nadal said. The 31st-ranked Monfils hasnt dropped a set all week but has only won twice against Nadal in 10 previous meetings. However, both those victories came here in Doha -- in the 2009 quarterfinals and the 2012 semifinals. This will be Monfils third appearance in the Doha final -- he lost to Roger Federer in 2006 and to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in 2012. "It means a lot to be in the final again," Monfils said. "I have one match to go. Ill be ready for it." Gojowczyk had only won one career tour-level match -- at the 2013 U.S. Open -- before this tournament, but still managed to bother Nadal in the first set. Nadals forehand improved in the second, however, and his opponent couldnt keep up after that. "I tried to change a little bit and tried to be positive for the rest of the match, because the tennis was not there today," Nadal said of his mindset after losing the first set. "Even if he was playing great, when the opponent is playing too comfortable (it) is because Im doing something bad. ... Without playing my best, I was able to find solution." LONDON -- Andy Murray was denied his 20th successive win on grass when he was beaten 7-6 (10), 6-2 by Radek Stepanek in the third round at Queens Club on Thursday. Murray, the defending champion and No. 3 seed, claimed his first match win at Queens in 2005 and went on to win the Wimbledon warmup three times. But he failed to take advantage of eight set points after leading the first-set tiebreaker 6-2, and Stepanek survived to convert with his second set point. A break to lead 1-0 in the second set put Stepanek firmly on the road to victory, and a further break to lead 5-2 left him serving for only his second win over Murray in seven meetings. Murrays last defeat on grass was against Roger Federer in the 2012 Wimbledon final. Since then, he had won the 2012 London Olympics which was played at Wimbledon, and the 2013 Queens and Wimbledon titles. "I have only got myself to blame that I lost the first set," Murray said. "I dont know how many set points I had, but quite a lot of them were on my serve. On this surface, especially, you shouldnt really be losing sets like that. For me, thats whats disappointing really about the match. "And then, yeah, unfortunately got broke in the first game of the second set. I couldnt quite get it back." Despite his defeat, the Roland Garros semifinalist has no concerns as he heads toward the defence of his Wimbledon title. "I dont think so," he said. "I need to spend time on the courts practicing some things. You know, the difference between this year and last year is I played a lot of matches the last couple of weeks at the French Open. Washington Redskins Jerseys. Since the Monday before the French Open, I have played every single day bar one up to now. Top seed and Australian Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka took just 50 minutes to ease past American Sam Querrey 6-2, 6-2, and second-seeded Tomas Berdych overcame solid resistance from Frenchman Adrian Mannarino, winning 7-6 (2), 6-4. Mannarino fought off 17 break points, including four set points at 6-5 in the first set, before Berdych broke on his 18th break point to lead 2-1 in the second. Berdych will next face Feliciano Lopez after the Spanish left-hander defeated Frenchman Kenny De Schepper 7-6 (3), 6-7 (4), 7-6 (3) in a match with no breaks of serve. Fifth seed and 2011 finalist Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was beaten 6-2, 6-4 by Marinko Matosevic. The Australian, who reached the final of a grass-court challenger last week and upset 2012 champion Marin Cilic in the first round, is coached by Hall of Famer Mark Woodforde There were victories, too, for fourth-seeded Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria, who defeated Edouard Roger-Vasselin of France 7-6 (3), 6-4, and seventh-seeded South African Kevin Anderson who edged Ukraines Sergiy Stakhovsky 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (4). LAS VEGAS -- It was the first question for Canadian Rory (Ares) MacDonald at the UFC 167 public workouts. Timofey Mozgov Womens Jersey . If the third-ranked MacDonald and welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre win on the weekend, will the two training partners have to fight each other. "No," said MacDonald, before pausing. "Next question?" Rashad Evans and Chael Sonnen, however, will put friendship aside Saturday when they face off in the co-main event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The two are no strangers to working in close quarters. When they are not fighting, they sit next to each other as TV analysts on UFC shows on Fox. After their fight, they will be reunited two weeks later to do coverage on a UFC weigh-in show. The 34-year-old Evans, a former light-heavyweight champion, is currently ranked the No. 4 contender in the 205-pound division ruled by Jon (Bones) Jones. The 36-year-old Sonnen, who has competed for the title at both 185 and 205 pounds, is ranked No. 6. Sonnen (29-13-1) is coming off an August win over former light-heavyweight champion Mauricio (Shogun) Rua. He had lost two straight title shots before that -- to Jones and then-middleweight champion Anderson Silva. Evans (23-3-1) beat Dan Henderson last time out in August. That followed losses to Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Jones. Sonnen-Evans may be a case of be careful of what you wish for. When Sonnen heard St-Pierre was headlining UFC 167, a marquee card that celebrates the UFCs 20-year anniversary, he asked to fight Wanderlei (The Axe Murderer) Silva in the co-main event. "Then I asked to be put in it with anybody but Rashad," he said. "But I ended up with Rashad, so I got half my wish." Sonnen and Evans were doing commentary work at a UFC show in Indianapolis in August when UFC president Dana White texted Sonnen to say he needed to talk to him about his next fight. "And I said as long as its at 205 and its not Rashad, Im in. And he wrote back It is Rashad. So I held the phone up to Rashad -- we were on a commercial break -- and just let him read it. And I didnt say anything. He read the whole thing." A few minutes later on the show, Sonnen had to turn to Evans to set him up for the next segment. "I could feel him sizing me up the whole rest of the show. And I felt myself doing the same thing to him." "Thats the way it goes," he added. "Its not the fight either of us wanted but were both leaders within the locker-room with the guys at the back. We cant set an example that you pick and choose your fights. You dont. Youve got to compete with everybody." Evans recalled the moment, noting the two had believed they wouldnt be pitted against each other. "Just because we have such good working chemistry (on TV) and I thought maybe they wouldnt do that just because it would bring a little bit of awkwardness. But we were both wrong." Evans says he usually sees his opponent and starts thinking "Oh, man Im going to punch him in his face." Not this time, although Evans believes that when the bell rings he will be able to "hit the switch and just make it a fight." White, who rarely sees a matchup he cant make, says Evans-Sonnen was simply the right fight at this time. The UFC boss, for the record, believes MacDonald will leave GSPs gym after this fight and start training on his own, setting the stage for an all-Canadian welterweight showdown. Both Sonnen and Evans have elite amateur wrestling credentials. Sonnen was a U.S. Olympic team alternate and NCAA all-American while Evans was a national junior college champion and NCAA all-American. Evans has landed 49 takedowns, the most in the UFC light-heavyweight division. Sonnen has 35, the most as a middleweight. Sonnen believes their wrestling skills might cancel each other out. "I anticipate that from a fans perspective, it will be a different fight than anyone has seen either of us have before," said Sonnen. "Well both have to go to some other hold ... This isnt a new spot but its a tough one. And Im going to have it figure it out on the fly," he added. Evans isnt buying it. "Lets be honest here. Chael Sonnen has one way of fighting and thats coming straight at you. It doesnt matter who you are, it doesnt matter what your game plan is. He has one game plan and thats to impose his will." Sonnen is like a blanket and looks to envelop his opponent from the get-go. And once he gets you down to the ground, he looks to punish and finish. Evans, meanwhile, combines speed and power, above a good wrestling base. Sonnen has got some intel from Henderson, his good friend and sometime training partner, on Evans. "He commented on how quick Rashad is and how difficult he is to hit, with his movement." Evans is also back on his game, after his UFC 145 title loss to Jones that saw a bitter break with his former camp at Jacksons MMA where Jones also trained. "Those guys were family for me for a long time before he (Jones) came into the picture. So it was kind of a sense of me losing a piece of my family and that hurt and that stung more than anything, than the fight itself." Evans formed his own camp, known as the Blackzilians, in Boca Raton, Fla., and says he has benefited from moving forward and ridding himself of past resentment. "No longer did I have those feelings of betrayal that I had before. I had a different understanding of the whole situation, which is the fact that sometimes in life people just have to go in different directions. And sometimes its good, and sometimes its hard to do. But at the same time, nevertheless we all have to go in (our) own direction at some point." Sonnen has also changed. At times in his career, especially when hyping up his two fights with then middleweight champion Anderson Silva, Sonnen has veered between carnival barker and pro wrestler in his on-camera persona as a fighter. But he has been a gentleman in recent times, both candid and cerebral. Asked about his first-round submission win over Rua, he was gracious in victory. "I dont think Shogun was ready to go that night. I think he was too much of a sportsman to make any excuses, unlike most guys. I think he let me have my moment. I dont think that was the real Shogun that I faced." And Sonnen played down any idea of good-natured trash-talking if he wins Saturday. "Im a pretty good winner, a pretty good loser," he said. "I understand its competition. Either way Ill shake his hand when its done and well walk away. But I wont bring it up ... bit of a low blow if I did." Same for Evans. "I wouldnt rub it in. I wouldnt overtly rub it in, I guess," he said, drawing laughs. "I wouldnt make a big deal out of it but every once in a while Id give him the look like You know what happened." Timofey Mozgov Youth Jersey . He looked very comfortable Wednesday night. They shot 57 per cent. They held an opponent under 100 points for the first time in 12 games. And they enjoyed a rare breather for most of the second half in a 114-88 victory Monday night over the Utah Jazz. "It all came together tonight and that was really good to see," coach Larry Drew said after the Bucks most lopsided win of the season. Ersan Ilyasova scored a season-high 31 points on 13-of-14 shooting to lead five Bucks in double digits. Zaza Pachulia added 14 points, six rebounds and five assists, and the NBAs worst team improved to 12-47. Enes Kanter had career-high 27 points to lead Utah, mired by a mistake-prone third quarter in which the Bucks regularly led by at least 20. "It doesnt matter how many points I scored because it was a loss in the end," Kanter said. Hard as it is to believe these days, Milwaukee was once a force in the NBA with Abdul-Jabbar, who was drafted No. 1 overall by the Bucks in 1969. Then named Lew Alcindor, the big man with the famed sky hook was joined by fellow future Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson on a team that won the NBA title in 1971. On Monday, Abdul-Jabbar was in town to promote a tourism ad for the state of Wisconsin that played off his acting role in the movie "Airplane." He watched a game that turned into a laugher in the second half. Everything went right for the Bucks. Pachulia hit a layup in transition for an 11-point lead before guard Nate Wolters got the break going again after a Utah miss with 11:07 left in the third quarter. After a Jazz miss, Wolters rushed the ball into the lane to draw defenders before pitching back to Pachulia for an open 15-footer. "Everything started defensively. We got stops. We got rebounds and fast breaks, then Nate did a good job with the penetration," Pachulia said. Later, Ilyasova found himself open from 22 feet for another jumper and an 85-60 lead with 3:08 left in the third quarter. There have been nights this season wwhen the Bucks have struggled to get to 85 for a game. DAngelo Russell Youth Jersey. But on Monday, Drews club pulled away after allowing an early 12-point lead to get erased in the second quarter. "It was really refreshing that our guys came out to start the third quarter with some energy and some juice," Drew said. "I thought the third quarter we were just really good. Ersan was just unbelievable." Ilyasova had 15 points in the third. Whether hitting wide-open shots from the perimeter or getting off-balance putbacks, he could rarely be stopped. In the fourth, precocious rookie Giannis Antetokounmpo entertained the crowd by converting a touch pass from O.J. Mayo into a dunk and a three-point play for a 108-79 lead with 6:07 left. It was a deflating outing for the Jazz, one night after they lost to the NBA-leading Pacers 94-91 in Indiana. Theyre 0-3 on the first three stops of their six-game road trip. "Its frustrating after the performance last night, the growth we showed last night. We just didnt get it back tonight," coach Tyrone Corbin said. Gordon Hayward provided some of Utahs limited highlights, finishing with 20 points. Kanter came off the bench to shoot 8 of 16 and 11 of 12 from the foul line, with 14 rebounds. Otherwise, the Jazz were overrun in Milwaukee. Milwaukee has won two of its last four, with both wins coming by at least 20 points. Still, even with Abdul-Jabbar in town for a publicized appearance, the rebuilding Bucks drew a season-low 10,222 fans. NOTES: Count Corbin as captain of the campaign to get Utah point guard Trey Burke in the conversation for the Rookie of the Year award. "Oh absolutely, absolutely. You look at his growth all year. ... You look at how this team has grown because of his play, should be factored in also," Corbin said. Burke is averaging 12.6 points and 5.4 assists. Chris Paul added 13 points and 11 assists for the Clippers, who apparently are trying to make up for decades of humiliation at the hands of the Lakers all in one season; theyve won the last two meetings by a combined 84 points.PARAMUS, N.J. -- Rory McIlroy took a week to celebrate his blockbuster summer and paid for it in The Barclays with his worst start in two months. He could afford a day off. That wasnt the case for players like Bo Van Pelt and Paul Casey, and they picked a good time to produce good scores. With no guarantee of playing beyond this week, Van Pelt opened with three straight birdies Thursday and chipped in for eagle late in his round for a 6-under 65 that gave him a one-shot lead in the opener of the FedEx Cup playoffs. Van Pelt is No. 104 in the FedEx Cup. Only the top 100 advance to the next tournament. Casey is No. 118 with a lot on his mind -- specifically the birth of his first child in two weeks -- and played bogey-free at Ridgewood to join seven other players at 66. That group included Brendon Todd, who is trying to get Ryder Cup captain Tom Watsons attention as a possible wild-card pick; and Hunter Mahan, who at No. 62 is in danger of missing the Tour Championship for the first time since the FedEx Cup began in 2007. Ridgewood featured some of the deepest rough of the year, though the greens were soft enough to allow for birdies if players could keep it in the fairway. The average score was 70.8, with 44 rounds in the 60s. McIlroy was not among them. The British Open and PGA champion went 13 holes before he made his first birdie and finished with a 74. That ended a streak of 14 straight rounds under par, and it was his highest score in the opening round since a 74 in the Irish Open in June. "Fatigue isnt playing a part," he said. "Its I think just not putting the time in that I probably should have over the past week. And I think I allowed myself that and deserved that. But this is the consequence of it and I need to work hard this afternoon and go out tomorrow and shoot a good number." McIlroy established himself anew as golfs No. 1 player with a wire-to-wire win at the British Open, a come-from-behind win at a World Golf Championship and a late charge at Valhalla to win the PGA Championship and become the third-youngest player with four majors. "I wanted to enjoy it for a week," he said. Van Pelt doesnt have that luxury. He started his year missing seven cuts in nine tournaments before it slowly started to come around over the last month. He felt he was heading in the rigght direction and received more confirmation Thursday. David Price Red Sox Jersey. Van Pelt didnt make a bogey, and finished strong with a 10-foot birdie putt on the 16th and the eagle on the par-5 17th hole that put him in the lead. "As poorly as I played at the start of the year, Im just kind of glad to be here," Van Pelt said. "Things have been trending in a lot better direction. So I felt fortunate to be here with the position I was in three months ago. I just felt like if I kept doing what I was doing, hopefully I would at least get to next week and then kind of cross that bridge when I got there." Jim Furyk, Charles Howell III, Brendon de Jonge, Ben Martin and Cameron Tringale also were in the group one shot behind. Casey hasnt had a top 10 on the PGA Tour all season and didnt make it into the playoffs with much room to spare. Hes not sure how long hell be around, although a solid start was sure to help. "I think today was probably a product of really not having really any expectations and just going out there and smashing it around and having fun," Casey said. McIlroy had his fun last week, and he was headed to the range after his opening round to get his game back. He took an early double bogey by barely getting out of a bunker and chipping 15 feet by the hole on No. 12, and then going long into a bunker for a bogey on the par-5 13th. "Its not a bad thing," he said. "A score like this would be tougher to take if I had not just come off the weeks that I had. But at the same time, I want to play well and I want to give myself chances to win tournaments." Mahan is the only player to compete in every playoff event since the FedEx Cup began. He is assured of two tournaments, though he needs a good week somewhere to keep alive his hopes of reaching Atlanta for the Tour Championship. The top 70 advance to the third week, and the top 30 get to East Lake for the finale. Plus, he hopes to audition for one of the captains picks for the Ryder Cup. "It will be a bonus to make it to Atlanta and it will be a bonus right now to make the Ryder Cup team," Mahan said. "So I have nothing to be nervous about or get out there and doubt myself. I have to trust myself because everything Im doing is good and everything else will kind of take care of itself." TORONTO - With training camp just around the corner, the Toronto Raptors have formally announced the addition of forward Chris Wright and guards Julyan Stone and Carlos Morais. Justin Jones Jersey . Terms of Thursdays signings were not disclosed but all three deals are believed to be non-guaranteed, allowing the new additions to attend training camp - beginning in Toronto on Oct. 1 - and compete for the teams final available roster spot. Wright, 24, participated on the Raptors 2013 Summer League team in Las Vegas, averaging 10.0 points and 3.2 rebounds in five games. After attending camp with Toronto in 2012 the athletic forward, listed at 6-8, played for the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Development League where he appeared in 39 games and ranked 10th in scoring pouring in 18.3 points per contest. Stone averaged 1.7 points and 1.5 rebounds in 26 games regular season games with the Denver Nuggets over the last two years, also appearing in four playoff contests. The 24-year-old point guard was expected to sign a guaranteed deal with the Raptors earlier this summer before lingering knee and hip injuries put the agreement on ice. Raptors General Manager Masai Ujiri, who previously acquired Stone in Denver, had maintained that the guard would be given another opportunity to earn a spot on the roster if and when he proved to be healthy. Morais (pronounced MORE-EYE-AS) is coming off an MVP performance for gold medal-winning Angola at the 2013 FIBA Africa championship where he scored 15.9 points to go along with 4.6 boards. The 27-year-old combo guard is looking to become the first Angolan-born player to make an NBA roster. The teams roster stands at 17 going into camp but must be trimmed down to 15 prior to the season debut in Boston on Oct. 30. Torontos roster has 14 guaranteed contracts after veteran guard/forward Quentin Richardson was waived last week. The Raptors are set to open camp at the Air Canada Centre on October 1st before heading to Halifax for two days (Oct 4-5) where they will hold a couple of private practices and a public scrimmage. Their eight-game pre-season schedule kicks off on Oct. 7 with a visit to Boston to face Toronto-native Kelly Olynyk and the new-look Celtics. And that wasnt even the strangest occurrence Sunday. Moments before Carl Edwards closed in on what should have been the white flag lap, the caution lights were accidentally turned on from the flag stand. As NASCAR tried to figure out what was going on, the sky opened up and prevented the race from resuming. Edwards was awarded the win under caution — a victory he was headed to before the mishap — and celebrated his third career win at Bristol with his trademark backflip on the slick concrete. "Oh, man, I thought, This is stupid. I shouldnt do this ... Its awfully glossy. It might be slick," he said. "I didnt want to stick it perfectly and have my feet go that way and break my arm on the concrete. That would have been terrible. I was actually really nervous about that." NASCAR vice-president of competition Robin Pemberton said a person in the flag stand leaned on the manual override switch and that turned on the caution lights. Six seconds after the lights were turned on, the flag man waved the yellow flag. Pemberton said that the flag man can wave the caution flag without a call from series officials in the tower if they see a proper reason. "We were scanning cars and spotters, and theres some of us in the tower that only heard it after the teams were talking about it because we were looking at other things around the racetrack," Pemberton said. Said Edwards: "No harm, no foul, lets act like it just didnt happen." The victory makes Edwards the fourth winner in four races this season and, under NASCARs new rules, is supposed to get him into the 16-driver Chase for the Sprint Cup championship. "Just to have a win this early, man, it is a huge relief," he said. Five other things from water-logged Bristol: BUMP-AND-RUN: With Chase berths conceivably on the line with a win, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was salivating at a shot at teammate Edwards when the final caution came out at Bristol. But he knew if the race went green again, his only chance would be the old Bristol bump-and-run, which hasnt been used in years. Its a risky move to do to a teammate, but owner Jack Roush said he expected nothing less from Stenhouse. "When it comes time to really charge for the checkered flag, there are no team orders, there aree no rules," Roush said. Mike Pouncey Jersey. "I expect them to race one another as they expect to be raced, not only with one another, but with everybody in the garage. I expect Ricky is as fierce a competitor as there is out there, and if his car has the speed in it and he can get to the car in front of him, particularly the short track, youd bump-and-run and take the prize if you could. Id be disappointed if he didnt have that in his mind." AWESOME ARIC: Aric Almirola finished a career-best third — and Richard Petty Motorsports teammate Marcos Ambrose was fifth as four Ford drivers placed in the top-five — but Ambrose felt he could have gotten more. He restarted second behind Carl Edwards with 70 laps to go and had one solid chance to take the lead. If hed gotten past Edwards, he just might have grabbed his first career victory. "These races are so hard to win, and it was a great day for us," he said. "Im not disappointed at all with third, but when you see it and you can taste it and its that close, you wonder what could have went different." SMOKE RISES: Tony Stewart salvaged what looked like it was going to be an awful weekend with a season-best fourth-place finish. It came after he qualified 37th, needed two Saturday practice sessions with crew chief Chad Johnston to make significant improvements to the car and needed the entire race to work his way into the top-10. "Its a step in the right direction for sure. This is a big one. If you come out of this place with a top-five youve had a good day," he said. DISSAPOINTED WITH THE FINISH: Kyle Larson flirted with the lead and was in position to race for the win until the race-changing caution with 77 laps remaining. He went to pit road third, took four tires and restarted ninth. So even though he finished a career-best 10th, the rookie wasnt thrilled. "Its crazy to think its kind of a disappointing finish for the way we ran for most of the race, but all in all it was a good race," Larson said. DALES BAD DAY: Dale Earnhardt Jr.s strong start to the season finally came to an end at Bristol, where he finished 24th after opening with a win and two second-places. Although his Chevrolet wasnt great all weekend, his trouble Sunday was compounded by two left-front tire issues. Once he was out of contention, he was basically just making laps for the bulk of the race. It cost Earnhardt the points lead, which went to Brad Keselowski. Earnhardt now trails Keselowski by 10 points. The 23-year-old Neustaedter will move at the end of the season when his contract with Moenchengladbach expires. He signed a four-year deal with Schalke.Barry Bonds, for whatever you may think of him or his methods, still holds the all-time record for home runs in the month of May. He slugged 17 back in May, 2001. The Jays Edwin Encarnacion has brought back memories of that prodigious feat by cranking out 11 homers in 21 games so far this month, including five in his last four games. Encarnacion has nine games left in May -- all in the homer-friendly Rogers Centre -- to take a run at Bonds mark. Thats six homers to tie or seven to break Bonds record in nine games. Not likely to happen, but not impossible either. Inspired by Encarnacions power display, I decided to go back through Blue Jays history and look at the numbers for some of the Jays all-time home run leaders. I decided to take their three peak home run seasons with the club and add them up to get a read on where Encarnacion stands. Over his past three seasons, Encarnacion has hit a total of 95 homers but that includes 17 in 2011. With 13 already this year, he can easily supplant that total and push his three year peak to well over 100. In the mid to late 80s, the Blue Jays go-to guys for homers were Jesse Barfield and George Bell. Barfield led the American League in "round trippers" in 86 with 40 and his three-year total from 1985 through 1987 was 95; the best three-year run of his career. Bell hit a then club record 47 in 1987 and beat out the Tigers Alan Trammell for the American Leagues Most Valuable Player award. Bells peak three-year total was 102 homers. Next up the ladder is the "Crime Dog" Fred McGriff. The tall, rangy first baseman belted a three-year total of 105 homers from 1988 to 1990 before being dealt, along with Tony Fernandez, to San Diego in the most important trade in franchise history for Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar and Joe Carter. Interesting to note; McGriff went on another great three-year power run, unlike the others from 91-93 with San Diego for two-and-a-half seasons and then a half season with Atlanta. He smacked another 103 homers over that span and finished his career with 493. Joe Carter, another key player in those back-to-back World Series victories, hit an even 100 homers from 1991 through 1993. Jose Canseco had one magnificent season with the Blue Jays in 1998, where he hit 49 homers and stole 29 bases. But since it was only one season with the Jays, I dont consider him to be part of the mix in this storyline. Next up is Shawn Green. From 1997 through 1999, the tall wiry right fielder hit 93 homers, including his top total of 42 in 1999, just before he was dealt to the Dodgers for Raul Mondesi. But Green was just getting started. In L.A from 2000 to 2002, he belted 115 homers, including 49 in 2001 and 42 in 2002, but for the purposes of this story, only the Blue Jays years count. Finally, we get down to the two men who so far have had the best three-year home run in franchise history. Carlos "the Captain" Delgado hit 124 from 1999 through 200, including 44 in 99 and 41 the following season. Delgado wound up his career just 27 shy of 500 with 473. That brings us to Jose Bautista, who equaled Delgados three-year run with 124 homers from 2010 to 2012, including a franchise record 54 in 2010. So to break that obscure mark of 124 homers over a three year period, Encarnacion would have to hit 47 home runs this season. Adam Foote Jersey. In other words, he needs 34 more over the final 114 games, including 60 at home, to be considered the elite slugger in franchise history over his peak three years. Its not a milestone many would even consider that important but it should be a fun chase to watch nonetheless. The Blue Jays, on the strength of a 14-7 month of May, have bumped their record to four games over .500 at 26 and 22 entering Friday nights three-game set at home against West Division-leading Oakland. They already have more victories than they did over the entire months of April and May a year ago, when they went 23-32. Sad to see Texas out-right J.P Arencibia to their Triple "A" Round Rock affiliate earlier this week. In his first game with the "Express," Arencibia was the DH and went for four with a strikeout. Arencibias final game with the Rangers was last Friday night at Arlington, when he caught Yu Darvish. Arencibia went without a hit in that one and Drew Hutchison out-dueled Darvish and pitched a complete game shutout. Ironically, in Darvishs next start against Detroit on Thursday at Comerica Park, Chris Giminez - the catcher called up to replace Arencibia - came up with the first four-hit game of his career. He had never even had a three-hit game before. Texas won 9-2, as Giminez also caught Darvish for the first time in his career and did a solid job behind the plate. All of that came on the same day the Rangers announced that Prince Fielder had opted to undergo season-ending neck surgery to have two discs fused in his neck, and 2B Jurickson Profar was likely gone for the rest of the year as well with a torn shoulder muscle. Fielder was the prized acquisition by the Rangers in the offseason in the Ian Kinsler trade with Detroit. The funny thing about that is, according to the Dallas Morning News, Fielder had mentioned to people in Detroit he had problems with neck pain when he was still in Motown. Yet, neither team asked for physicals for either player before the deal was made. Strange to say, the least. A couple of more notes on Arencibia. Since he broke in with the Jays on that magnificent day on August 7, 2010 with two homers in that wild 17-11 victory over Tampa Bay, there are only eight players left from that roster still with the organization just 4 years later. The eight include Encarnacion, Bautista, Adam Lind, Brandon Morrow (whos on the DL), Casey Janssen, Brett Cecil and two pitchers stranded at Buffalo in Kyle Drabek and Ricky Romero. Talk about turnover! Interesting too, that one of Arencibias teammates at Round Rock is a Canadian -- 34 year old right hander Scott Richmond, who hails from BC. Richmond had a stint with the Blue Jays before Arencibia arrived. Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins is drawing ever closer in his quest to become the franchises number one hits man. He needs just 17 more to pass Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt. 16 of the Phils next 22 games are at Citizens Bank Park. The Phils have got to be hoping Rollins can reach the milestone in front of the home fans. CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Nobody on the current Villanova roster had even been born the last time the Wildcats stood alone atop the Big East. David Justice Jersey . The 32-year drought ended Thursday night when Darrun Hilliard scored 19 points and No. 6 Villanova clinched the outright Big East championship for the first time since the 1981-82 season by holding off undermanned Xavier 77-70. The Wildcats, playing before a hostile standing-room only crowd of 10,340 in their first visit to Cintas Center, overcame a determined Musketeers team in what Villanova coach Jay Wright described as a "great, intense college basketball environment." "Youre not going to win championships unless you win on the road," Wright said. "We have great respect for this league. To win this league is a hell of an accomplishment." JayVaughn Pinkston added 15 points -- eight in the last 3:20 -- James Bell finished with 12 and Ryan Arcidiacono chipped in 11 as the Wildcats (27-3, 15-2 Big East) extended their school record for regular-season wins with their fifth straight and 11th in their last 12 games. They also clinched the top seed in the Big East tournament, which starts Wednesday at Madison Square Garden in New York. "This is a big accomplishment," Bell said. "Its a testament to how hard weve worked, but we cant stop there." The Wildcats went into the night with a 1 1-2 game lead over No. 13 Creighton in the Big East and two games remaining. The Bluejays have one game to play. Villanova, which last shared the title in a co-championship with Syracuse in 2005-06, wraps up its regular season Saturday at home against Georgetown. Justin Martin had 20 points for Xavier (20-11, 10-8) while Semaj Christon added 18 points and Isaiah Philmore finished with 15. The Musketeers ended the regular season with consecutive losses. Xavier struggled from 3-point range finishing 6 of 23, while Villanova was 9 for 23. The game was Xaviers first without 6-foot-10 junior centre Matt Stainbrook, who started each of the Musketeers previous 30 before straining the medial collateral ligament in his left knee in their 71-62 loss at Seton Hall on Monday. Stainbrook watched the game from the bench wearing a tan suit and bow tie. "Us not having Matt was tough, but I think we learned more about each other," Philmore said. "It didnt turn out the way we wanted it to, obviously, but we stuck together. It just wasnt enough. Sometimes, its not always enough." Xaviers regular-season finale was its second consecutive home game against a Top 10 team and the second straight to attract a standing-room only crowd. The Wildcats never trailed after Arcidiacono made two free throws for a 29-28 lead with 5:11 left in the first half. Villanova, which beat Xavier 81-58 on Feb. 3 for the Musketeers worst loss of the season, led by as many as 12 points. The lead dwindled to three before Josh Hart and Bell made two free throws each in the final 19.4 seconds. "We knew they wouldnt go away," Wright said. "They played without one of their best players. We caught a break there." The Wildcats had no surprises, Musketeers coach Chris Mack said. "They were what we saw on film," he said. "This was our first game without Matt, so that was a little bit different, but we competed. We didnt quite have enough to beat Villanova." Hilliard, averaging 14.1 points per game, had 15 to help the Wildcats take a 41-36 halftime lead. Martin, who went into the game averaging 11.2 points, scored 12 in the first half for Xavier. PHILADELPHIA -- Claude Giroux is excited about the way the Philadelphia Flyers are playing. Wayne Simmonds had two goals and an assist to lead the Philadelphia Flyers to a 4-1 win over the Minnesota Wild on Monday night, extending their home win streak to nine games. "We got the four lines rolling. Everybodys playing great," Giroux said. "I think when you have a team effort like tonight, its a really good feeling. We can take it in for a couple days for Christmas here, and be ready to go on the road." The Flyers brought their record back above .500 (17-16-4). Luke Schenn scored first for the Flyers, on the teams first shot of the night, giving them a lead they never lost. Scott Hartnells assist on that goal was the veteran Flyers 500th career point. "It was a big win, more importantly," Hartnell said. "Its kind of cool to hit a century mark, but we wanted to end into this Christmas break with a big win. Everybodys got a lot of smiles on our faces. That was an amazing effort and a big win. Its huge." Giroux had a goal and an assist, extending his scoring streak to eight games, a new high for the Flyers captain. While the Flyers will be using their three-day break to celebrate, the Wild will have plenty of time to consider whats gone wrong for them in recent days. Mondays loss was their third in a row, a stretch of games during which theyve scored only four goals and sank to fourth place in the Central Division. "Its a good time for the break," Kyle Brodziak said. "We need a few days to really find what we need to do, and what every guy in the room really needs to do, however we need to do it, to break out of whatever funk we are in right now." With the loss, the Wild are 1-7-1 in their last nine games on the road. They fell to 2-7-0 lifetime at the Wells Fargo Center. Theyve lost six of their last 10 games. Mikael Grandlund scored the Wilds lone marker in the first period, a power-play goal duriing a 1:40 two-man advantage that cut the Flyers lead to 2-1. Dansby Swanson Jersey. But after that goal, scored late in the first period, the Wilds offence all but disappeared. The Wild travelled to Philadelphia after falling to the New York Rangers 4-1 Sunday. Back-to-back games can be difficult, and goaltender Niklas Backstrom started both. He, along with many teammates, seemed tired. Wild head coach Mike Yeo wasnt about to use fatigue as an excuse. "Im not going to paint a rosy picture and Im not going to make any excuses," Yeo said. "Flat out, we need to be better. Its every one of us. It starts with me. We have to be better. What I mean is, this is not us. Plain and simple, this is not us." Across the ice, however, the Flyers felt as if Mondays effort was perfectly representative of their team identity. They scored on the power play (Simmonds first-period goal), they kept their defence tight and they played hard right up until the final horn sounded. They feel theyve managed to turn around a dire start to their season. "No one wants to let anyone down in here -- turning the puck over, making soft plays," Hartnell said. "When youre accountable to your teammates, the guy next to you in the dressing room, you play hard, you play smarter. Weve got to eliminate some simple penalties that weve been taking lately, but its been a lot of fun here at home. Weve got to take this show on the road here." Both teams will return from the days off with games in Canada -- the Wild in Winnipeg, the Flyers in Edmonton. But only the Flyers will be riding the momentum of a complete-game victory. "We definitely needed that," Simmonds said. "You guys asked if we were worried, I said no. We know what were capable of." NOTES: Zach Parise missed the game with a lower-body injury. . TORONTO -- The Kitchener Rangers wasted no time on Saturday addressing one of their most pressing needs. Jacob Larsson Jersey . The Rangers took high-scoring centre Adam Mascherin with the second pick in the OHL draft. The five-foot-nine, 197-pound Mascherin had 71 goals and 66 assists in 66 games with the Vaughan Kings and joins a Kitchener squad that scored the third-fewest goals in the OHL this year in posting the leagues second-worst record at 22-41-2-3. There was no drama regarding whod be taken ahead of Mascherin. On Friday, the Sarnia Sting announced they would select American Jakob Chychrun, a six-foot-two, 195-pound defenceman with the Toronto Jr. Canadiens, first overall. "Im really looking forward to playing for coach Trevor, (head coach Trevor Letowski) and my future teammates and working hard with them every day to hopefully one day build this team into a playoff contender," Chychrun said. The 16-year-old Chychrun had 16 goals and 27 assists in 29 games this season. He was also the youngest member of Ontarios team at the U17 World Challenge, where he had a goal and three assists in five games. Chychrun is the son of former NHL defenceman Jeff Chychrun, who won a Stanley Cup in 1992 with the Pittsburgh Penguins. "Were not only bringing into our organization an exceptional hockey player but an extremely mature and great person in general," said Rick Sinclair, the Stings head scout and player-personnel director. But Chychrun was certainly in the minority as 16 of the 20 first-round picks were forwards. The Ottawa 67s, selecting third overall, continued that trend by taking left-winger Travis Barron, a six-foot-one, 175-pound forward who was teammate of Chychrun with the Jr. Canadiens. Last year, Ottawa had the top pick and used it to select centre Travis Konecny, who was named the leagues top rookie in 2013-14. Konecny, 17, led all OHL first-year players in scoring with 70 points (26 goals, 44 assists) in 63 games. Three Americans went in the first round. After Sarnia took Chychrun, the Niagara IceDogs selected forward Logan Brown at No. 6, The six-foot-four, 210-pound Brown, a native of Chesterfield, Mo., had 25 points (14 goals, 11 assists) in 15 games with the Indiana Ice this season. Then at No. 18, the London Knights took left-winger Max Jones, a six-foot-two, 190-pound forward from Rochester, Mich. Jones had 22 points (nine goals, 13 assists) and 121 penalty minutes in 24 games with the Detroit Honeybaked under-18 squad this season. Both players come from hockey families. Browns father, Jeff, was a former NHL defenceman who holds the St Louis Blues team record for most points by a defenceman (78 in 92-93). Brad Jones played centre for the Winnipeg Jets, Los Angeles Kings and Philadelphia Flyers from 1986-87 to 1991-92. Julius Nattinen Jersey . Correia pitched six innings of one-run ball, Eduardo Escobar homered, and the Minnesota Twins pulled away late to beat the Colorado Rockies 9-3 on Saturday. Kevin Bieksa Jersey . The 90-plus minutes of play are about trends and approach. http://www.officialduckshockeyauthentic.com/jakob-silfverberg-jersey/ . Patty Mills scored 15 points, Tim Duncan had 10 points and 11 rebounds in limited minutes, and San Antonio trailed for only 11 seconds late in the first quarter of a 103-90 victory over Portland on Wednesday night.CALGARY -- Eddie Lack continues to impress as the latest understudy to Vancouver Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo. Lack made 18 saves for his fifth straight win and second shutout of the season Sunday night as the Vancouver Canucks continued a sensational month of December with a 2-0 victory over the Calgary Flames. "It was a pretty easy night for me," said Lack, making his third consecutive start with Luongo (lower body) on injured reserve. "I had to be sharp a couple times but overall, I felt that our D-men boxed them out really good." Lack improves to 7-2-0 on the season and moves into third in the league with a 1.74 goals-against average. His .933 save percentage is sixth best. "The guys are playing awesome in front of me. I cant really complain about anything. I just want to keep it going," said Lack. Vancouver got the only goal it would need in the final minute of the first period on a terrific breakaway pass from Henrik Sedin and an even better finish from the speedy Jannik Hansen. After Mark Giordanos shot was blocked, Sedin corralled the puck and spotted Hansen darting up the ice. Looking like a quarterback waiting for his receiver to get open, Sedin paused before hitting him with a perfect pass. "I saw an opportunity for us to turn the puck over in our end so took a chance that we were going to get it and fortunately enough it ends up on Hanks tape and hes able to feather it through," said Hansen. "It jumped on me and I think that fooled the goalie a little bit too and I maybe caught him a little bit out of position and leaving a little more room than he would have liked to." It was Giordano who Hansen got behind before whipping a shot into the top corner on Reto Berra. "I thought I could have stopped the pass but he made a pretty good pass in the air and landed it right on the guys stick, said the Flames captain. "In hindsight, I maybe should have turned around and got back but even if I did that, I dont know if I would have been able to get back in time." Mike Santorelli also scored for Vancouver (23-11-6). Playing for the first time in a week, the Canucks improve to 10-1-1 in its last 12. They are right back in action Monday night when they take on the Philadelphia Flyers at Rogers Arena. "If you look at the standings, its extremely tight," Hansen said. "If youre not stringing wins together, youre not going anywhere. Weve played a tremendous December and were still fourth in our division." Calgary (14-19-6) falls to 1--2-0 with two games remaining on a five-game homestand. Teemu Selanne Jersey. The Flames next opponent is also Philadelphia, hosting them on New Years Eve. "Goal scoring, thats the toughest part of this league," said Flames coach Bob Hartley. "Right now, we have a few guys that are squeezing the sticks." Coming off a 2-0 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Friday, Calgary has been shut out at the Scotiabank Saddledome since before Christmas, a span of 125 minutes and 5 seconds. "We have to keep going, we have lots of youngsters that are facing adversity right now and we have a few veterans who are facing adversity. The number one priority we have is to stick together," Hartley said. "We knew that we would have some bumps on the road and right now, were there. Coming back from the break, it seems like we cant buy a goal." With some spectacular saves, Berra kept the game 1-0 until 18:44 of the third period when Santorelli converted a two-on-one on Vancouvers 30th shot of the night. The Flames first-year Swiss goaltender falls to 5-10-2. "In the second period, we spent so much time in our zone. Vancouver played like we wanted to play," said Flames defenceman Chris Butler, the Flames ice-time lead with 24:16. "By the time we got the puck and were skating out of the zone, everybody was dog tired so you have to dump it in and go for a change. Its tough to get sustained pressure that way." Trailing 1-0 after two periods despite being outshot 24-8, the Flames came out flying in the third pouring on early pressure on Lack but couldnt solve the Swede. The game got off to a rousing start when rugged Flames fourth liner Brian McGrattan got his arm up high on a heavy hit along the side boards in the Canucks end that caught defenceman Andrew Alberts in the head and flattened him. While Alberts remained down, McGrattan squared off in a fight with giant Canucks enforcer Tom Sestito. Alberts did not return. Notes: Henrik Sedin needed stitches after getting hit in the ear by a puck in warm-up. He played in his 669 consecutive game, which is the second longest active iron man streak and sixth longest in league history... Flames C Markus Granlund, recalled early this morning from Abbotsford (AHL), did not end up playing when Mikael Backlund was ruled good to go after the warm-up. Granlund, 20, has never played an NHL game... Twenty-five of the Flames 39 games have been decided by one goal, which leads the NHL. Five more would have been one-goal games if not for an empty goal. PORTLAND, Ore. Keegan Iverson, Chase De Leo and Mathew Dumba also scored for Portland while Goaltender Corbin Boes made 31 saves for the win. Brett Pollock and Henrik Samuelsson supplied the goals for the Oil Kings as Tristan Jarry stopped 31 shots in a losing effort. Edmonton earned three power plays in the first period to Portlands none, but it was the Winterhawks who got off to a fast start. Iverson scored 2:20 into the first period to put Portland up 1-0, a score that held until the Winterhawks added two goals in the final two minutes of the period. Bittners goal with 1:53 left in period was followed by a De Leo strike 57 seconds later to put Portland up 3-0 through 20 minutes. The Oil Kings responded, as Pollock scored his team-leading 11th goal of the post-season to put Edmonton on the board 20 seconds into the second period and Samuelsson scored exactly two minutes later to make it 3-2. Dumbas power-play goal with 37 seconds left in the second rebuilt Portlands lead to 4-2, and Bittner added his second of the game with a wrist shot early in the third. Edmonton went scoreless on four power play chances in the game, while Portland finished 1 for 5. The Oil Kings and Winterhawks are meeting in the WHL final for the third straight season. Edmonton won in seven games in 2012, while Portland took the championship series in six games last season. And thats about it. After the Salukis 73-65 loss at Murray State on Tuesday night, Hinson called his players "uncoachable," "a bunch of mamas boys" and compared the disciplining of his young team to housebreaking a puppy.TORONTO -- Melky Cabrera insists hes got the same swing he did a year ago. Its just the way hes feeling thats all new. Seven months after having a benign tumour removed from his spine, the Toronto Blue Jays left fielder is healthy, buoyed by an off-season workout routine with slugger Jose Bautista and ready to show the player he can be. Cabrera slammed a home run for a career-best fourth consecutive game on Tuesday as Toronto beat the Houston Astros 5-2 at Rogers Centre. "I feel 100 per cent now and Im ready to go," Cabrera said through a translator. Cabrera, signed by Toronto before last season for $16 million over two years, had missed more than 50 games due to various injuries before surgery in September to remove the tumour, which is not believed to be related to the steroid use that saw him suspended 50 games by Major League Baseball in 2012. "Im good. I dont have any pain now," said Cabrera, who had never before homered in three straight games in this his 10th season in the Majors. "I knew last year wasnt the way I was capable of playing. "Im going to continue to work hard and continue to play hard and try to help the team win games." Cabreras homer gave the Blue Jays some breathing room in the bottom of the seventh. Up 3-2, on a night where Houston continually threatened but couldnt cash in, he drilled an 0-2 slider from Astros reliever Kevin Chapman over the left-field wall to make it 5-2 and effectively end the drama. "I thought when we signed him last year he had a chance to hit some home runs here," Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said of Cabrera, who had a career high of 18 home runs with Kansas City in 2011. "Hes not known as a home run hitter but its a perfect place for himm. Ricardo Rodriguez Jersey. "Hes off to a good start. He and Jose (Bautista) keep going back and forth, a little competition there." Bautista took the club lead with his fourth home run of the season to open the scoring in the bottom of the first. Cabreras blast matched that and ended the nights scoring before 13,123 at Rogers Centre. Veteran catcher Dioner Navarro had an RBI double from each side of the plate to account for the rest of the scoring for the Blue Jays (4-4), who were outhit 9-5 on the night by the Astros (3-5). Veteran left-handed pitcher Mark Buehrle, who bent but didnt break over 5-1/3 innings, ran his record to 2-0 despite being hit hard by the Astros. "Tonight was one of those where I had to battle," said Buehrle, who gave up eight hits and an earned run before leaving up 2-1. "I was up in the zone on everything, wasnt getting ahead in the count. "Im fortunate to get away with giving up one run in 5-1/3 innings. That could have been a game where I gave up eight to 10 runs, so luckily we snuck out the win on this one." Four Toronto relievers held the Astros to one run and one hit over 3-2/3 innings as Houston had base-runners in each of the first eight innings but went 0-14 with runners in scoring position. Sergio Santos struck out the side in the ninth for his third save. Gibbons said it was obvious Buehrle "was a little bit off" so he decided to pull him even though the southpaw had only thrown 81 pitches. "But he did what he does best. He survives. He keeps you in the game and he got some big outs when he had to," Gibbons said. "I just thought in a one-run game it was time to turn it over to the bullpen, everybody was pretty rested down there."
